I’ve never noticed these height-markers before, but I’m told they’re found everywhere. I saw this one in a bank in Stockholm last summer. Pasted on the inside of the door frame, it helps estimate the height of the fleeing robber caught on video. I still haven’t spotted another one, even though I’ve been on the lookout. Have you seen any?

I have seen them in Wawa’s. (A convenience store on the east coast of the US.)
Thank you, nzMichele, Noelle, and Takakura. I’ve been curious. Anyone else see these things?
These height markers are quite popular here in Japan too. They are just about everywhere. Banks, convenient stores and even most restaurants have these. And isn’t it funny this is such a safe country.
I’ve seen those here for years, mostly in the convenience stores (7-11), gas station stores, and liquor stores – places that get robbed often. The other day we were at the public library for a concert and my dad noticed a height marker on the inside of the auditorium door. I still haven’t been able to figure out why it was in that particular spot!
They’ve already had them for many, many years on bank doors in New Zealand and Australia.
